FAQs

  • Great question. We have taught various types of lessons ranging from an hour-long to 15 minutes each. We have taught groups ranging from 8 students at a time to one student and through all of this experience, we found it is most beneficial for each individual child to have one-on-one lessons for shorter concentrated periods of time.

If the child is younger, this is even better for them as they are spending the whole time learning without needing games and songs to fill the time. After about 15 minutes the younger kids are usually done and just want to play or get out. This keeps it short and sweet as well as keeping the swimmer engaged and learning the whole time.

  • We teach children as young as six months. With children under the age of two, we focus primarily on teaching basic water safety skills including falling in the water, floating, retrieving items, and successfully swimming to the wall and exiting the water. For best results, we highly recommend signing up for two sessions (four weeks) if your child is under the age of two.

  • Yes! We keep our pools heated to 82 degrees for maximum learning and comfort.

  • Each lesson varies based on age and ability level. But a typical lesson follows a plan such as:

1-2 min: Opening (getting face wet, blowing bubbles and retrieving dive toys)

    3-4 min: Kick Board Training

5-7 min: Varies Based On Level (floating, free style, backstroke, breaststroke, survival stroke, monkey/star/rocket ship)

8-15 min: Varies Based On Level (jumping in the pool and floating, jumping in the pool and swimming to the step while taking breaks to breathe, diving, diving for rings, diving to swim across the pool)

  • All of our swim instructors are CPR & First Aid Certified and have a background in water sports.

  • Full payment is required upon registration and is nonrefundable.

  • It is very normal for your child to cry on their first day of lessons. To help with this, we recommend parents talk about swim lessons as much as possible beforehand using language to get your child excited about lessons. When your child sees their parent confidently bring them to the instructor, it helps give the child a sense of security and trust. It is best to not ask the child what is wrong or what they are scared of because it gives them an opportunity to create something that is scaring them, instead another way you can help is by encouraging them and believing they can do it.

  • Photos and videos can be taken as long as it is not a distraction to the swimmer. We recommend to take pictures on the last few days of lessons as your swimmer will become more confident in the water.

  • Sunscreen is so important! We recommend to apply sunscreen on your child 30 minutes before their scheduled lesson time. If sunscreen is put on when arriving, the sunscreen will wash off when entering the water. We ask for this as a proper protectant for your child as well as to keep the pool clean.

  • Although all of our lessons are private one on one swim lessons, some people desire the convenience of having swim lessons at their home. We require for the pool to be heated to 82 degrees for all lessons. The price varies based on location, quantity of lessons, and amount of swimmers.
